Why Did You Let This Happen?
#GazaHolocaust
Why did you let it come to this,
Where smoke replaces breath and bliss?
Where hunger haunts the morning air,
Where every eye is stripped, laid bare?
Why did you let an army rise,
Announce the end without disguise?
To cleanse a people, burn their name
With laughter loud, ignite the flame?
They leveled homes, they stole the land,
They crushed each child with steady hand.
They shattered every thread they owned,
Even their bread, their sacred stone.
You America, Britain, Germany stood,
In silence, or worse, you called it good.
It is ethnic cleansing, they proudly declare,
Not hidden in whispers, t’s shouted in air.
It is genocide, bold and unveiled,
Said from the start and still not failed.
Where is your faith, your voice, your fire?
Where are the morals you used to require?
Where is your nation, the one that could lead?
Where is your human right when children bleed?
Where are your values, so quick to condemn,
When others fell short, you judged all of them?
Now you have none, no ground to defend,
Your spine has broken, your claim has an end.
You’ve lost your argument, shattered your role
Today you're the worst, with no human soul.
No mercy, no conscience, no claim to light
You feed the dark and call it right.
You use your money, your power, your guns,
To help them finish what they’ve begun.
You fund the hunger, you fuel the flame,
You carry the weight, you share in the shame.
They rape with hands, they rape with dogs
They drag the men through blood and fog.
Still you cheer, or look away
While children starve day after day.
You treasoned your nations, betrayed their trust,
Turned their gold into weapons of dust.
Used their strength to protect these crimes,
To cover the horror in real-time.
You treasoned your nations by hiding the screams,
By silencing truth and crushing dreams.
Buried their honor beneath the tide,
Stained their names the world once eyed.
Why, America? Why, Britain? Why, Germany, too?
Where is the line that once ran through you?
What did you worship that stole your sight
That made you mistake genocide for right?
You watched the slaughter, stood in line,
With hands still warm from blood and brine.
No human left, no moral call
You stood for nothing and now you fall.
May they have mercy,
Those whom you betrayed.
May they look at you not with hate
But with the justice long delayed.
May God have mercy,
On every soul you've cast away,
On those who fell beneath the blade,
Denied the right to speak or pray.
May God have mercy,
On all who suffered through your reign,
Through bloody hands and allies vile,
Through calculated death and pain.
May God have mercy,
On every cry the world ignored,
On every home that met your fire,
On every life your guns deplored.
May God have mercy,
On all your victims voiceless, slain,
Of every past, and still today
May justice rise where you brought pain.
